What You'll Create

By the end of this guide, you'll transform a raw product photo (shot on iPhone, messy background) into a professional e-commerce asset:

  • Clean white or colored background
  • Professional studio-style shadows
  • Optional floor reflection for premium look
  • 4K resolution for print or zoom

Before You Start

Required:

  • AuraFx plugin installed and activated
  • Product photo imported into Figma
  • Google Gemini API key configured

Recommended Source Photo:

  • Good lighting (natural or ring light)
  • Product in sharp focus
  • At least 1000px wide (higher is better)

The Complete Workflow

1

Remove Background

First, isolate your product from the messy background.

  1. Select your product image in Figma
  2. Open AuraFx plugin (Right-click → Plugins → AuraFx)
  3. Click Remove BG
  4. Wait 1-2 seconds for AI processing
  5. Review the result with the before/after slider
  6. Click Accept

Pro tip: AuraFx handles complex edges (hair, fur, transparent objects) automatically. No manual masking needed.

2

Add Background Color

Now that your product is on a transparent background, add a clean backdrop.

Option A: Use AuraFx BG Color

  1. With product selected, click BG Color - White (or Black/Gray)
  2. AI replaces transparent background with your chosen color

Option B: Use Figma Rectangle

  1. Create a rectangle behind your product (R key)
  2. Set fill to your brand color
  3. Position product layer above rectangle
3

Add Professional Shadow

Add depth with a natural shadow that matches your product's shape.

  1. Select your product (not the background)
  2. Click AI Shadows in AuraFx
  3. Choose shadow type:
    • Soft — natural, diffused (most common)
    • Hard — dramatic, sharp edge
    • Floating — product appears elevated
  4. Accept the result

Pro tip: For e-commerce, "Soft" shadow is usually best. It looks natural without being distracting.

4

Add Reflection (Optional)

For a premium, high-end look, add a floor reflection.

  1. Select product with shadow
  2. Click Reflection Effect
  3. AI generates a realistic floor reflection
  4. Accept if you like the effect

Reflection works best on white or light backgrounds. Skip this step if you prefer a minimal look.

5

Upscale to 4K (Optional)

If you need high resolution for print or zoom functionality:

  1. Select your final product image
  2. Click AI Upscale 2x or 4x
  3. Wait for AI processing (3-5 seconds)
  4. Compare and accept

Use 2x for web images, 4x for print or large displays.

6

Export for E-commerce

Now export your final product image from Figma:

  1. Select the product image
  2. In right sidebar, scroll to Export
  3. Choose format (PNG for transparency, JPG for smaller file size)
  4. Set resolution (1x, 2x, or 3x depending on your upscale)
  5. Click Export

Automate This Workflow with Action Chaining

Instead of running 5 separate actions, create a workflow that does all steps in one click:

  1. In AuraFx, switch to Chain tab
  2. Add actions in order: Remove BG → BG White → Shadow → Reflection → Upscale 2x
  3. Click Run Chain
  4. All 5 actions execute sequentially
  5. Review final result once

Save this chain as "Product Photo Workflow" for reuse on future products.

Processing 50 Products at Once

Need to process an entire product catalog? Use batch processing:

  1. Import all product photos into one Figma page
  2. Select all images (Cmd/Ctrl + A or drag-select)
  3. Run your action chain or individual action
  4. AuraFx processes each image sequentially
  5. Review all results at once, accept or reject individually

Time savings: Manual Photoshop editing: ~5 min per product × 50 = 250 minutes (4+ hours). AuraFx batch: ~3 seconds per product × 50 = 2.5 minutes + review time.
